On June 1, 2026, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn attended the official opening of the Sri Sirindhorn Building at Srinagarindra the Princess Mother School, located in Mueang District, Phuket Province. The event commenced with Her Royal Highness being warmly received by Phuket Governor Nirat Pongsitthaworn, along with senior officials, military personnel, police officers, government representatives, and local residents. The school’s director, Natthayaporn Sewatanon, was present to welcome her upon arrival.
The ceremony began with a tribute to Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, where Her Royal Highness laid a floral wreath and offered incense and candles. Following this, she proceeded to the Sri Sirindhorn Building, where school officials and advisors presented her with floral tributes. A commemorative publication was presented by former school director Montri Pornphon, and the current director made a donation for charitable initiatives. The Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Pichet Phophakdee, elaborated on the purpose of the event.
To mark the official inauguration, Her Royal Highness unveiled a commemorative plaque and planted a Sirindhorn Champi tree. She then explored an academic exhibition showcasing students’ integrated learning projects spanning eight subject areas. Additionally, she wrote the Chinese name of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn at the foreign languages exhibition. Before concluding her visit, she signed the guestbook of the institution, attended a performance by the student choir, and engaged with administrators from Yaowawit School and Phuket Vocational College, who presented reports on their students’ academic progress.
