Nannimoon Nanny Service Expands to Popular Asian Destinations

Taking a family holiday to popular destinations in Thailand, Bali, and Vietnam can be quite challenging for those traveling with young children. A newly established nanny service, Nannimoon, aims to alleviate these difficulties. Founded by two Israeli mothers, Inbar Wienberger Mor and Noa Coller Shaki, Nannimoon connects families on holiday with local nannies, ensuring a stress-free travel experience.

Launched last year, Nannimoon initially focused on Thailand’s most frequented vacation spots, such as Phuket, Koh Samui, and Chiang Mai, but is now expanding to Bali and plans to enter the Vietnamese market soon. Both Inbar and Noa, who have backgrounds in different professional fields and are mothers themselves, identified a gap in the market based on their own experiences during family vacations in Thailand.

After struggling to find suitable childcare during their travels, they created a Facebook group two years ago to connect Thai nannies with visiting families. The initiative quickly gained traction, resulting in over 5,000 bookings. Following the success of the Facebook group, Inbar and Noa decided to transition to full-time work on Nannimoon, with Inbar serving as the CEO and Noa as the COO.

“We wanted a platform that people trusted where it was easy to search and book a nanny at the click of a button,” Inbar explained in a phone interview from Israel. “All our nannies have been vetted and are trustworthy – families can book knowing that the nannies are experienced and reliable.” Additionally, Nannimoon offers 24/7 support through its website, alongside a 72-hour trial period for families to evaluate their nanny’s fit with their children. If families are not satisfied, they can opt for a refund or a different nanny.

Inbar highlighted the importance of Nannimoon beyond just enhancing family vacations, noting that it provides local nannies with meaningful employment opportunities. “The nannies we use can earn good wages,” she stated, adding that the service currently employs nearly 400 nannies in Thailand.

Since its inception, Nannimoon has attracted families from various countries, including Israel, Australia, Britain, and other regions in Asia. Noa noted different travel patterns, highlighting that Israeli families often prefer to move between locations like Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Phuket, while families from Australia and Britain tend to stay in one area for longer periods.

Unfortunately, the recent outbreak of war in Iran has led to numerous cancellations from Israeli families who had planned trips to Thailand. “Many Israelis had planned trips in March and April, but unfortunately, the skies were closed due to the war and there were a lot of cancellations,” Inbar shared.

Both founders have faced their own challenges managing Nannimoon while caring for their young children during this tumultuous period. Inbar, who has children aged 5 and 1, and Noa, who has a 5-year-old, a 3-year-old, and a newborn, described the difficulties they encountered in the early days of the war when frequent sirens disrupted daily life. Despite these adversities, Inbar mentioned that they have worked to strengthen their platform, resulting in increased bookings.

Moving forward, Nannimoon plans to expand its services further into Bali and Vietnam, while also aiming to target the Australian market and explore new locations such as Ibiza in the Mediterranean and Costa Rica in Central America. The cost for hiring a nanny is typically based on an eight-hour shift, with rates varying according to location, the number of children, and the nanny’s experience level.
