A 27-year-old Australian tourist, identified as Christopher Kazantzidis, was discovered deceased in a Phuket condominium on May 20 at approximately 7:30 PM. Local law enforcement from Karon Police Station responded to a report of the death and proceeded to the location to assess the situation. Upon entering the unit, officers found Kazantzidis’s body lying on the floor.
Condominium personnel informed authorities that the last confirmed sighting of Kazantzidis was around 12:20 AM on May 19. When staff grew worried after not seeing him for an extended period, they contacted the owner of the condo to gain access to the room, where they subsequently discovered the body and called the police.
Nearby, law enforcement officials noted the presence of a white powder on a plate situated on a table. Preliminary investigations revealed no indications of a struggle or evidence of foul play. Forensic teams collected samples from the scene, while a forensic doctor from Vachira Phuket Hospital conducted an examination of the deceased.
According to reports from Amarin TV, authorities plan to send the white powder for testing and will liaise with the Australian embassy for any necessary follow-up actions.
