Plans for a 16.8 billion baht tunnel connecting Kathu and Patong aim to reduce travel time from 30 minutes to about five. The project, pending Cabinet approval, includes a 1.85-kilometre tunnel and is expected to handle up to 60,000 vehicles daily once operational.
