From the stunning shores of the Philippines to the picturesque beaches of Greece and Spain, these locations have secured their places among the world’s top 50 beaches. Each of these paradisiacal beaches offers a sensory delight, even when thousands of kilometers away.
A striking sight awaits visitors at Entalula Beach in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines, where the sand is so white it appears almost surreal, and steep cliffs crowned with coconut trees stretch skyward. This beach, only accessible by the local bangka boats, claimed the top spot in the latest ranking by The 50 Best, a prestigious list that highlights the most coveted destinations in tourism.
Following Entalula in the rankings is Fteri Beach in Greece, which ranks second, while Wharton Beach in Australia takes third place. The top five is rounded out by Nosy Iranja in Madagascar and East Beach on Vomo Island in Fiji, all celebrated not just for their breathtaking views but also for the tranquillity they provide, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in nature. The definition of paradise has evolved; today, luxury is defined by exclusivity and authenticity rather than just picturesque scenery.
The ranking showcases a strong European representation, with Spain featuring two beaches. Cala Macarella in Menorca holds the 12th position, while Cofete Beach in Fuerteventura, known for its wild beauty in the Canary Islands, is placed at 39.
Greece shines with three beaches: in addition to Fteri, Porto Katsiki in Lefkada ranks 34th, and Porto Timoni in Corfu is at 46th. Italy adds Cala dei Gabbiani at 18 and La Pelosa at 48, both located in Sardinia. Additionally, France’s Santa Giulia at 35 in Corsica and Turkey’s Kaputas Beach at 29, nestled at the base of a deep canyon, also feature on the list.
Two more Atlantic beaches make the cut: Praia de Falesia in Portugal, consistently a top contender, and Ireland’s Keem Beach, which rounds out the top 50.
However, the 2026 ranking reveals that the epicenter of beach paradise lies within the tropical regions of Asia and the Pacific. Countries like the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, the Maldives, and Cambodia are prominent in this year’s selections, showcasing their exotic beauty and natural richness. Meanwhile, destinations such as Fiji and French Polynesia remain symbols of exclusive luxury, often considered unattainable.
Despite the rise of Asian beaches, the Caribbean continues to captivate with its allure, featuring iconic locales such as Turks & Caicos, the Dominican Republic, Anguilla, Grenada, and Curaçao, all contributing to its remarkable reputation in the collective imagination.
